Ode to Mothers pink and white frosted animal cookies

Pablo Neruda is my favorite poet ever. He's from Chile and he writes poems in Spanish which are absolutely amazing. Most of them are translated into English but they lose something in the translation, they just aren't as good. In high school English class we had to do a big portfolio on a poet and I chose Pablo Neruda of course. I even wrote a whole poem in Spanish. Then in college we had to analyze a Spanish poem and I once again chose him. There is just something about his poems I love. Neruda writes a ton of poems called Odes. They are always about something simple and usually kind of silly like ode to tomatoes, ode to socks etc. They are slightly strange but I love the simplicity of them, they are poems about his favorite things. In addition he writes awesome sonnets and all manner of wonderful things. This is my favorite one:
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way

than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

Just trust me when I say it's better in Spanish. I just love that poem for some reason. Anyway the point of the blog was to write an ode to mothers pink and white frosted animal cookies. I'm not actually going to write an ode because i don't feel like it right now but can I tell you how much I have been eating those things lately. Every once in a while my grandma used to have them and I always get good memories when I eat them. Plus they are so fun, they are pink and covered in sprinkles, what's not to like?? those are the only thing I ever eat more than a handful of. Anyway this is a pointless  post but oh well.
